Once upon a time, in a Dubai Land not so far away, a little girl became Princess for a day.
She was lavished with a sumptuous feast of local Emirati delicacies that included grilled fish, chicken biryani, sweet rice, lentil soup… But being a typical little girl, she survived only on bread and Cheerios so while her family devoured all the splendid food, she nibbled delicately only on Khameer bread.

Then the Little Princess was whisked away onto a ferry boat that took her up and down the realm of Dubai Land passing by some of her favorite lands including her favorite, Legoland, and mommy and daddy’s favorite village (Irish Village) because she’s told that this special place sells the most splendid pints of amber and golden drinks.
Alighting from her magical boat ride, the Little Princess was shown to a special dressing room where she was sprinkled with fairy dust, dressed in fairy wings and crowned with a princess cap. At that very moment, there was no happier girl in the realm.

Soon she was joined by other little princesses and princes from other far away lands to enjoy one of her favorite pastimes: storytelling.
This particular story was read from a giant storybook bigger and taller than her.
Just when she thought life couldn’t get any better, mommy and daddy took the Little Princess to Ella’s Creamery for a magical scoop of “Unicorn Ice Cream“.

Unicorn ice cream was followed by one final storytime – this one on the actual river. Perched on her daddy’s shoulders for the best view in the realm, the Little Princess was rapt with wonder as she watched and listened to the tale of the “Frog Prince”.
Soon, the Little Princess felt her eyelids grow increasingly heavy and although she wanted to see more of Dubai Land including the Great Blue Magician, she drifted into a dream state with sleepy visions of fairy dust, LEGO castles, and unicorn ice cream.

Fairy Tales on the River is one of many themed monthly events taking place in Dubai Parks and Resorts. We love these events as it brings such a vibrant atmosphere to the park. Entry is free (avoid the 50 dhs parking fee by parking at the Outlet Village and walk the 5 minutes over).
The previous month, the theme was Xtreme Acts and we had a blast zip-lining over the river and rock climbing. For April, the theme is Rhythm on the River (April 6-8).
