Little Monkey Costume 2011
Wee Scotch in his monkey costume

Our first Halloween in Dubai, Scotch and I forgot about it completely and had no candy when our doorbell rang unexpectedly. I felt so awful about turning the cute little kids away that I might have put up a sign that read, “No Candy,” so I wouldn’t have to personally disappoint anymore children.

Our second Halloween, I was prepared. I bought some decorations for the outside of our apartment door and bought a few packages of candy. We waited and waited but that year, no Trick or Treaters came.

Last year, we weren’t home for Halloween.

Let’s see what happens this year…

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

  1. I didn't like trick or treating when I came to the Middle East – it's not a very British thing! Now I really look forward to opening our garden gate, shouting boo and seeing all the expectant little faces. The costumes are amazing.
