I hope everyone had a nice NYE!  Scotch and I had planned on doing the same thing we did last year (dinner at home then off to the beach in front of our JBR apartment to watch the fireworks).  But since Sheikh Mohammed cancelled all NYE’s fireworks celebrations in Dubai (yes, all), we just stayed in and drank ourselves silly with a few friends.

Anyway, Dubai was soooo foggy that any fireworks display would be rather obscured and difficult to see.

You can read the article here and below is a little snippet:

“Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the cancellation of all New Year celebrations in Dubai in support of the people of Gaza.”

  1. Wow! that was awesome! My husband and I are planning to visit Jordan and this helped me a lot. Now I know which places we need to visit. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you spend for this vacation including the car rental and others? so at least we can prepare…. are there tourist guides available? do you have any contact person there who can assist us? Please send me an email. Thank you so much!
