Bumble Box Contents
Bumble Box is a Dubai-based venture that supports local farms in the region and provides us with tasty, fresh, organic and LOCAL fruit and vegetables.
Each week, they provide what I call a “mystery box” of local fruit and veg in two box sizes: small (80 aed) and large (130 aed). Because they source and consolidate local produce into their boxes, the selection varies week to week depending on what is available.
Bumble Box holds a weekly market at the Dubai Garden Centre (on Sheikh Zayed Road) every Saturday from 9:30am – 1pm where you can meet and chat with their passionate team. Please check the Bumble Box website for more details, updated timings, and delivery information.
At the market, there are also other local food businesses as well. The last time I was there, I saw vendors selling cupcakes, brownies, bread, pickles, jams, and much more.
Bumble Box Market at Dubai Garden Centre
With a RAW coffee cafe, a House of Prose second-hand bookshop, Scotch and I can easily spend a whole Saturday morning at the Dubai Garden Centre. And Wee Scotch loves to stick his nose onto the fish tanks in the aquarium section. Although I’m not so sure if the shop assistants appreciate all the nose and fingerprints he leaves behind.
One of the inspirations from my Bumble Box was a Spicy Chicken Lettuce Wrap using the spicy yellow chillis, cucumbers, red peppers, and romaine lettuce.
You can read more about it in my article on bizchickblogs where I also posted the recipe.
